If you try to rest in you garage with a trailer, that sometimes will not allow you to rest. If that happen, then just disconnect the trailer. I have mods yes but not many it is a fairly new profile. If your modded profile is older than when 1.32 came out you must disable the mods and start a new profile. That is the easiest way to fix it.

The drivers doesnt need to take breaks / sleep cause he gets tired (ie not able to keep eyes open, falling asleep behind the wheel). He have to take those breaks because of rules (to prevent drivers falling asleep at wheel). So this system IS realistic. Except, there are some exception not implemented in the game.
